HOUSTON - One of the agenda of the Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on a working visit to Houston, Texas, USA is to be a single panelist speaker at the Ministerial Dialogue in CERAWeek event on Wednesday (7/3).

In this 40-minute interactive talk show, Arcandra provides insight into his experience at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, especially with regard to policy. "Understanding the technical aspects is very important needed in making the policy so it can be implemented in the field," said Arcandra

In addition to talk shows, in CERAWeek, Wamen ESDM is also a panelist in Ministerial Dialogue and talks about Energy Transition.

 

This dialogue is guided by Mr. Pascual, former US ambassador to Mexico. Apart from Indonesia, this panel discussion also featured Israel Energy Minister Steinitz, Sri Lanka Oil Minister Arjuna Ranatunga, and METI, Japan Hosaka.

In this panel discussion, Arcandra delivered a new fiscal regime Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Gross Split as well as an overview of Indonesia's gas balance.

 

At the conclusion of the discussion, Pascual gave a positive note to the Indonesian government that has given an example of an innovation. He said that innovation is not limited to technology alone, but new policy breakthroughs like Gross Split by the Indonesian government are a form of innovation.

 

For information, CERAWeek is an annual event held in Houston in March. The event was attended by the company's Ministers and CEOs in the energy field. CERAWeek is one of the high profile events, where speakers are decision makers, policy makers and business people. This year was held at the Hilton Downtown Houston hotel from 5 to 9 March 2018.

 

In addition to attending the CERAWeek event, Arcandra also met with leaders of major oil and gas companies including Chevron, British Petroleum (BP) North America and Murphy Oil Corporation.

 

Arcandra's visit to a number of oil companies in the US is a follow-up of the Indonesian government's efforts to hold international companies to increase investment in the national oil and gas sector, especially for the offer of 26 blocks of new work areas offered in 2018. (RZ)
