ESDM Deputy Minister: State Budget Must Prioritized the Utilization for the Community Thursday, May 24, 2018

AGAM - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Arcandra Tahar, today (Thursday 24/5) inaugurated 9 units of groundwater drilling well and 20 New Renewable Energy Power Plant (EBT) of West Sumatra, which is centered in Nagari Padang Tarok, Baso District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province. The number of drilling wells that are inaugurated today are 9 units spread in 7 districts / municipalities and 20 renewable energy based generators spread over 5 districts / cities. The infrastructure that is built is derived from the State Budget (APBN) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2016-2017.

The entire infrastructure that was inaugurated has been operated and has been benefited by the community to meet the needs of clean water and electricity. Deputy Minister ESDM in his speech said that in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, more than 50 percent for physical development. "Physical development must be felt directly by the community, such as wells drill, Minihydro Power Plant (PLTMH), converter kits, and others. The important thing must be felt the usefulness ", he said.

 

New Renewable Energy-based Power Plant (PLT EBT), which was inaugurated today, consists of 3 PLTMH (Mini Hydro) and 17 PLTS (Solar) with a total capacity of 955 kW and a total connection of 2,710. The total budget for the development of this infrastructure is as much as 57.1 M. The point of its distribution such as follows:

 

• Pasaman District: 2 units of Minihydro Power Plant (PLTMH) total capacity of 125 kW electrified   277 families

• West Pasaman District: 1 unit of Minihydro Power Plant (PLTMH) total capacity of 50 kW electrified 155 families

• Mentawai Islands District: 15 units Centralized Solar Power Plant (PLTS) total capacity of 700 kWp electrified 2,033 KK

• Solok District: 1 unit of Minihydro Power Plant (PLTMH)  total capacity of 50 kW energies 163 families

• District of South Solok: 1 unit Centralized Solar Power Plant (PLTS)  total capacity of 30 kWp electrified 82 families

 

"New renewable energy potential in West Sumatera should be explored continuously, in order to be optimally utilized, for example in South Solok, there is a geothermal that has begun to be developed" said Arcandra.

 

Ministry of ESDM c.q Directorate General of EBTKE starting fiscal year 2011 up to 2017, has implemented New Renewable Energy Power Plant (EBT) 740 units with a total capacity of 50,561 kW, has served 97,013 heads of households in 33 provinces in Indonesia.

 

Until now, there are still some areas in West Sumatera in particular and in Indonesia in general, have difficulty of clean water and have not reached PLN electricity, therefore infrastructure programs and pro prosperity of the people should continue to be encouraged, which of course with the cooperation and support from various parties, whether members of House Representatives(DPR) / Region House Representative (DPRD), Local Government and and also the community.
