JAKARTA - The Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) released the 4-year achievement of the EBTKE sector in the Government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla. In the third quarter of 2018, Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) from the EBTKE sector reached Rp1.14 trillion, or 163 percent of the 2018 APBN target of Rp. 700 billion.

"Although small compared to the oil and gas or mineral and coal sectors, this is for the size of a newborn baby, producing PNBP with achievements that can make proud, controlled. For this year , from the target of Rp. 700 billion, which has been agreed to by the House of Representative (DPR) Budget Board, in progress, until the third quarter or the end of September 2018, we have reached Rp1.14 trillion, "explained EBTKE Director General Rida Mulyana in Jakarta, Friday (10/26).

In addition to PNBP, the realization of CO2 gas emissions also exceeded the 2018 target. Until the third quarter of 2018, the reduction in CO2 gas emissions had reached 40 million tons of CO2, above the target of 36 million tons of CO2.

"What we are targeting for 2018, this also boasts, because we have exceeded what has been assigned to reduce CO2 emissions, which is already 40 million tons," said Rida.

In terms of investment, up to the third quarter of 2018 the EBTKE sector had generated USD 1.16 billion, or 57.7 percent of this year's target of USD 2.01 billion.

Rida also said that out of 70 EBT contracts signed in 2017, 4 of them had been operating in the third quarter of 2018 and 26 projects were under construction.

The installed capacity of EBT Generators built with State Budget (APBN) up to October 2018 reaches 50,889 kilowatts (kW). While the capacity of the geothermal subsector is 1,948.5 megawatts (MW), not far from the 2018 target of 2,058.5 MW.

"For this Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) we can surpass the Philippines in a total capacity of Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP), and we become number 2 in the world. Insya Allah, in 2022 or 2023 with the plan we have, can shift the United States into number one geothermal producer in the world," said Rida.

Rida also said that the installed capacity of Waste Power Plant (PLTS),  Hydro Micro Power Plant (PLTMH) and Wind Power Plant (PLTB) reaches 315.1 MW plus 75 MW from the Sidrap Wind Power Plant (PLTB). From the bioenergy sub-sector, the installed generating capacity is 1,857.5 MW, consisting of Biomass, Biogas, City Waste and BBN Power Plants, most of which are off-grid (Power Plant (PLT).

The Directorate General of EBTKE has also issued a mandatory policy for biofuel mixtures to fuel by 20% (B20) since 2016. Until October 22, 2018, the realization of B20 reached 2.53 million kiloliters (KL), from the target of 3.92 million KL at the end of 2018. (k)
