SINGAPORE - Indonesia won various awards at the 2018 ASEAN Energy Awards. The award at the Southeast Asian region was awarded in the series of the 36th ASEAN Minister on Energy Meeting at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore (Tuesday, 29/10).


The Indonesian delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arcandra Tahar congratulated the winners from Indonesia who totally collected a number of 7 best practices awards and 2 excellence awards in management by individuals. "This achievement must be maintained and in the future improved. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has been continuing to disseminate information on energy conservation and utilization of new and renewable energy," said Arcandra on the night of the award.


The ASEAN Energy Awards have been held every year since 2000. This award aims to appreciate the best practices and increase public awareness of the use and development of new, renewable and energy conservation energy. The selection and determination process of winners is very competitive from hundreds of candidates proposed by all ASEAN member countries.


The achievements in this prestigious award show that energy companies in Indonesia have met environmental standards and have a high concern for environmentally friendly business practices. In addition, this achievement also reflects that renewable energy activists continue to carry out various innovations, and that large companies improve the quality of management of their energy management continuously.
