The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Disaster Team Operates 2 Water Treatment Units in Donggala Regency Monday, 12 November 2018

DONGGALA - The Disaster Alert Team of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has again operated two units of Water Treatment facilities for the Drinking Water Supply Ready program in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province.

 

The two units of the water treatment facility were installed in the office of the Central Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the office of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency of Donggala Regency.

"The two water treatment facilities were operational on Friday (9/11). With the operation of the two Water Treatment units, it is expected to meet the needs of drinking water and clean water for around 1,776 refugees living in 3 refugee posts around the location of the Water Treatment facility. , "said the Head of the Communication Bureau, Public Information Services and the Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agung Pribadi, Monday (11/12).

Donggala Regent Kasman Lassa had visited the location to see first hand the operation of 2 units of Water Treatment facilities held by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Disaster Prepared Team along with mining sector partners.

In a speech at the Heroes' Day commemoration on Saturday (10/11), Kasman specifically expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Minister of ESDM for the efforts made by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and its partners in helping to deal with the earthquake-tsunami disaster in Central Sulawesi, including assistance with the provision of 2 units of Water Treatment facilities in Donggala Regency.

 

Kasman also expressed his appreciation to PT. Nusa Halmahera Minerals for their participation helped procure 2 units of Water Treatment for refugees in Donggala Regency. The existence of this Water Treatment facility is very helpful in overcoming the difficulties of drinking water and clean water faced by the people of Donggala Regency, especially those who are still settled in refugee camps.

 

For this reason, Kasman hopes that the Donggala community can take care of and maintain for the two Water Treatment facilities.

 

 

The operation of 2 units of Water Treatment facilities in Donggala Regency is part of the Ready to Drink Clean Water program from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Disaster Preparedness Team to help meet the needs of drinking water and clean water for around 20,000 refugees and communities in Central Sulawesi, after the earthquake-tsunami disaster 28 Last September 2018.

 

Previously, in the middle of last October, 3 units of water treatment facilities had also been operating in 3 locations for evacuation posts, namely the Palu Agung Mosque Refugee Command Post, Majelis Dzikr Habib Sholeh Islamic Refugee Command Post, Kabonena Palu Street and at the Hospital Refugee Post in Biromaru roundbout ,Sigi .
