PEKALONGAN - New renewable energy-based infrastructure, in the form of a Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS), has been installed in Pekalongan Regency. The installation allocation is 214 units of Public Street Lighting - Solar Power (PJU-TS) for 2018. The Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS) is expected to provide street lighting in 71 villages in 24 sub-districts.

"Tunjungsari Village is one of the villages where the PJU-TS is installed in Pekalongan District which gets an allocation of 9 Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS). To move to the fields and move to another village, the Tunjungsari people have to go through a long road that is very quiet and has no lighting at night. In addition, the community must also pass through railroad crossings that are not equipped with guard posts and railroad boundaries. Therefore, the existence of the Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS) provides convenience and security for the community to move at night.

The government hopes that the installation of the Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS) will provide the maximum benefit for the people in Pekalongan. PJU-TS is a street lighting lamp that uses sunlight as a source of electrical energy, so it becomes a solution to be used on roads in areas that have not been reached by PLN electricity, but want to reduce the electricity consumption of the area. The Public Street Lighting  - Solar Power (PJU-TS) program is targeted to reach 27 provinces, with a total of 21,755 Public Street Lighting - Solar Power (PJU-TS) units, with a total budget of 403 billion for 2018.

"We really hope that this lamp will be useful for the Pekalongan people and of course the commitment from all  who are willing to maintain and keep care the infrastructure, it means the community supports the EBTKE development and implementation program for future national energy security," added Secretary of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, Heri Nurzaman when inaugurating the installation of Public Street Lighting - Solar Power (PJU-TS) in Pekalongan Regency on Friday (7/12).
