Strengthen Energy Security, ESDM - IEA Cooperate

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), representing the Government of Indonesia to re-establish cooperation with the International Energy Agency (IEA).

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), representing the Government of Indonesia to re-establish cooperation with the International Energy Agency (IEA).

 

The cooperation is marked by the signing of the Joint Work Program (JWP) on Wednesday (8/11), covering energy data and statistics, Energy Sector and Energy, Oil and Gas Market, Power Sector and Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Climate Change and Clean Energy Technology.

 

This cooperation also aims to strengthen energy security for sustainable global growth. At the signing of this Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan was represented by the Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Rida Mulyana, and the IEA is the Executive Director of IEA, Fatih Birol.

 

"KESDM welcomes this cooperation with the IEA, in the Joint Work Program in addition to sharing data and information, is also aimed at improving the Capacity Building of employees in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the processing and analysis of energy data in the formulation of recommendations for policy making, all of which still culminate in strengthening to sustainable energy "said Director General of EBTKE, Rida Mulyana at the IEA Ministerial Meeting.

 

In working visit of the ESDM Ministry meets the IEA invitation to attend the IEA Ministerial Meeting which is a biennial meeting. The meeting took place 2 days, 7 - 8 November 2017 in Paris, France. For the year 2017 the theme of strengthening energy security for sustainable global growth.

 

In this meeting, several issues of concern are how to create good conditions for investing in energy, strengthen energy security, transition to clean energy and energy digitization. This is a challenge that needs to be of concern to all stakeholders in the ESDM sector.
