Ready to Operate, PLTB Sidrap I Trial Interconnection to PLN Network Sunday, January 7, 2018

JAKARTA - The Wind Power Plant (PLTB) Sidrap I will be operated soon after the interconnection test with PT PLN (Persero) network, which took place this weekend (7/1).

A total of 20 turbines from 30 wind turbines planned and Substation (GI) have been ready for connection with PLN network since last week. Each turbine has been built and ready to connect with capacity of 2.5 Mega Watt (MW) or 50 MW in total.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ignatsius Jonan, fully supports the operation of this Sidrap coal-fired power plant, even during a visit to PLTB Sidrap at the end of September 2017 and Jonan expressed his support for the development plan of Sidrap II phase coal.


"(PLTB) Phase First(1) ,the tariff is USD 11 cents per kWh flat, (for second(2)) how? We negotiate again, we will accommodate, I ask the price can be lower," said Minister in Sidrap (30/9).


With the operation of PLTB Sidrap I later, the plant becomes the first commercial plant in Indonesia that utilizes wind energy. The project with an investment of USD 150 million (approximately Rp 2 trillion) operated by PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi when it is operating all (30 turbines), able to electrify about 70,000 household customers in South Sulawesi.
